Federal Court Cases
- Represent client in multi-million dollar mortgage fraud case.
- Corporate president, who was accused of using his corporation to facilitate a criminal conspiracy, was acquitted by jury.
- Client acquitted of life felony after jury trial
- Multi-million dollar stock fraud scheme: represented client on appeal
- Represent mortgage broker in $10 million dollar wire fraud scheme
- Represented corporate officer in $50 million dollar tax fraud and money laundering case.
- Reversed conviction based upon prosecutorial misconduct
- Persuaded government that over one million dollars in seized assets were not connected to business owner's money laundering offenses. Assets returned.
- Convinced federal court to find grand jury subpoena of client's computer password coercive. This led to court's decision that evidence found on computer vis-a-vis 1B1.8 proffer could not be used to increase client's sentence despite non mandatory nature of guidelines. Client's sentence cut by over half as a result.
- Habeas Petition: represented client before appeals court which reversed trial court's dismissal of habeas petition
- Two thousand kilo cocaine conspiracy: represented client in case that led to mistrial because jury was split on whether confidential informants falsified evidence
- Whitey Bulger Conspiracy: represented real estate developer who was accused of laundering millions of dollars for criminal syndicate.
- Drug conspiracy indictment dismissed after Judge was convinced that statute of limitations was violated.
- Defendant sentenced to one year and a day in community confinement, despite guidelines calling for 98 month sentence, based upon rehabiltation argument.
- Persuaded prosecutor that a hundred million dollar loss in company's market cap, attributable to client's fraudulent sale of overvalued asset, should not be included in relevant conduct as loss calculation.
